It was indeed an experience and the food was excellent. Very friendly staffs although they do not converse much in English but they tried their best. Fortunately they do have English menu.We could really taste the freshness of the squid as it was still alive when served. Had the seabass sashimi as well. Wanted to try the lobster and urchin but were sold out.

Check what is the type of squid they are serving, they change according to the season and availability...

Great live squid sashimi! It was still moving and changing colour when it's served! Tempura for the rest of the squid was amazing too!! But go there early to avoid waiting. We went there 30 mins before the store open. But by the time it's open, there were about 50 ppl waiting at the door. Overall service was okay but I guess since there are still tons of ppl waiting, ppl tend to eat their meal very rush. So don't expect a relax long lunch there.

If you're going to eat squid with Yobuko, it's Kawataro. Naturally, squid sashimi looks beautiful and delicious, but the geso tempura that comes out after sashimi is exquisite. As my friend told me this was one of the best place for ika ikizukuri (freshly dead squid sashimi), so I came here. But my friend didn’t tell me I should book seats in advance. Hence, I waited for the queue for 1hr. This place served squid sashimi with head and tentacles piece. After a while, the staff came to ask how would we want the tentacle to be prepared, tempura, yaki, and... (the other I didn’t catch). Other foods were also ok, despite a little high price.

Great place for squid sashimi. It was so fresh that the squid was still moving when you eat it. The squid taste sweeter than other places in japan. It was a good experience and the price was relatively cheap.

Originally, I came to eat more transparent and thin yariyaka, but today I only ate squid. When I ate squid sashimi, I was surprised that it didn't have a difference in texture than I had boiled, but I was more surprised to eat tempura. The squid tempura was different. I usually don't eat a lot of rice (about 1/4 air). If you haven't tried this, please try it!
